Narrow Mid-Terrace

Narrow gardens are a joy to work on as they can so easily be made into two or three different spaces that feel entirely separate from eachother. This garden in east London is only 4.5m wide yet has two seating areas for making the most of morning and afternoon sunshine. The lush and immersive planting in the centre of the garden serves to envelope both spaces in textured greens, and although the rear patio is overlooked by more than half a dozen neighbours on 3 sides, over time the planting has matured so that you can't be seen at all - a private haven in the heart of the city.
